Firedragon Enterprises was begun in 1991, as a consulting firm to the oil industry on educational, operational and legal issues. 
In 1995 Firedragon also became a publishing firm and develops and distributes books on oilheating and HVAC subjects.

We do 'energy options' consulting for residential and commercial customers. We can advise on fuel switching, conservation and new and replacement fuel oil tanks, retrofit burners and heating systems. We do not provide heating, air conditioning or burner services. Click here for more.

Firedragon Academy was founded in 1998 and provides seminars that have been developed by George Lanthier. We are an independent educator offering a 'higher degree of learning' for heating service professionals.

We offer certification for most of the industry's training programs and have clients in both the private and public sector including trade associations, manufacturers, wholesalers, government agencies, sub-contractors and service contractors.

We can offer both off-the-shelf programs already developed or customize a program to meet your needs and are the leaders in oilheat curriculum development and implementation. We are specialists in made to order in-house programs for groups as small as three persons.

In 2009 Firedragon Academy began training on the subjects of both natural and liquid propane gas. This venture was added due to requests from our many gas based clients who have attended our seminars on heating systems and our control schools. 

We provide seminars on many technical subjects in the HVAC area and all of our courses are based on proven material and texts from the industry's leading authors and manufacturers.

We are the industry's acknowledged leader on independent training for RIELLO gas and oil burners and have produced the definitive texts used for training on these products.  

Our goal is to provide our clients with all of their educational needs in the fields of heating, air conditioning and fire codes. 

We offer specific product training programs on many subjects in the HVAC service industry including oilburners, gasburners, wiring and controls, combustion, venting, air conditioning and fuel switching conversions. 

Our educational services include service and training procedures for any level of technical education from apprentice to seasoned veteran. We offer the finest in sales, service, and operation management seminars and consulting.

We promise that our programs are exciting, educational and provocative. Most of our courses are Certified or recognized by the HVAC Excellence, NATE and NORA programs.

We've written courses for the industry's best known companies, we can write one for you. Please call us for specific programs tailored to your needs. Please keep in mind that although many of our courses run up to 8 hours per day, they can be modified to suit your time block and CEUs will be issued based on the time the program runs for.

We offer programs for schools, wholesalers and manufacturers and specialize in doing 'in-house' programs for heating and cooling contractors, oil companies, home inspectors, chimney sweeps, plumbers and many others.

George Lanthier, Owner & Chief Instructor
George Lanthier is a nationally known instructor and expert witness on oil burning equipment and HVAC trade issues.
He has been a Massachusetts State Certified Technician since 1967 and State Certified Instructor since 1975. 
He is the former Technical Director for the Mass Oil Heat Council, and former Chief Instructor and Curriculum Coordinator for the New England Fuel Institute. 

George has written articles for CMMTQ, Contractor Canada, Fuel Oil News, Fuel Oil & Oilheat, Oilheating, Oil & Energy, Progress, Sweeping and HVAC Insider.

He is a graduate of Waltham Vocational High School (electronics), Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, numerous trade courses and the RIELLO Factory School in Legnago, Italy. He is a US Air Force veteran and brings a veritable gold mine of real life experience and knowledge to the classroom. He is a Certified Instructor and Proctor for the PMEF, NATE, HVAC Excellence and NORA programs.

His credits as an author include Combustion & Oil Burning Equipment, WIRING & Oil Burning Equipment and other books that can be purchased here.

He was also a contributing author and editor of the Oil Heat Technician’s Manual for the Petroleum Marketing Education Foundation, Petroleum Marketers Association of America, National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers and National Oilheat Research Alliance.
