We are pleased to present some of the finest textbooks available today for the HVAC and oilheating industries. Most of our textbooks have been written or developed by George Lanthier, an award winning author and teacher whose current articles can be found in Fuel Oil News magazine. George has also written for Fuel Oil & Oilheat, Oilheating, Yankee Oilman, Contracting Canada, HVAC Insider, Progress, Sweeping, Oil & Energy and CMMTQ. All of our selections are noted for their easy to read and understand style and include many drawings, illustrations, and examples that lead the reader through the material for an easy understanding of the subject discussed.

Please note that all of the books sold here are used in our seminars and form the working texts and notes for most of our seminars. In addition, they are a constant 'work-in-progress', so they change with the technology and techniques in the field.

Advanced Residential Oilburners by George Lanthier
This manual is the most comprehensive and newest text on oilburners for residential and light commercial use. It reviews the basics of oilburner service and then looks at more of the chemistry and advanced troubleshooting knowledge required by senior technicians to service some of today's more complicated problems in plain, simple language. Provides an in-depth and thorough examination of the oilburner, combustion, venting and the troubleshooting and testing of all of these complex and sophisticated technologies and sciences. 

Basic Air Conditioning Systems by George Lanthier and Jim Todd  
The book is aimed at heating technicians who wish to increase their knowledge and earning base by discussing the basic fundamentals of residential air conditioning systems. The book covers components, systems, the 'refrigeration cycle', controls, troubleshooting, refrigerant recovery, charging methods and tools. It also includes many service and troubleshooting techniques and service checklists. The book features the simple and easy to read and understand style of our other publications.

The CMR 4.00 Guide FIFTH EDITION  Edited by George Lanthier
This 2009 revised manual covers all of the information required to be up to date on the newest version of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Regulation's on Oil Burning Equipment, 527 CMR 4.00. The manual covers all of the changes that have taken effect since 1995. Used by both local fire services and oilheat equipment installers, and is considered the standard and authoritative text on the subject and is the standard text used in training for the MA Fire Marshal's Office and the oilheat industry.

The Hot Water Handbook - SECOND EDITION by George Lanthier and Robert Suffredini 
The first generic text ever on the subject of domestic hot water! Includes information on designing, testing, troubleshooting and determining the correct size of tanklesses, direct heaters and indirect heaters. Covers all fuel systems: electric, fueloil and gas. Included in the text are illustrations and tables for the proper sizing, troubleshooting, and of all kinds of water heaters working with or without a central heating system. Includes a discussion on the controversial issues of 'scalding' and 'bacterial growth'.

Hydronic Systems (Design, Piping & Wiring) SECOND EDITION by George Lanthier
The manual was designed to be used as a resource for those just beginning to work on residential hot water heating systems and act as a refresher for seasoned veterans. The book covers the correct design of hydronic piping systems, boiler and system operation and the controls and wiring of gravity, forced, and multi-zone systems all in one text. Second Edition has extensive review on Primary-Secondary systems, radiant and new high output radiation. The book offers the service technician and installer a reference manual that keeps the engineering and math required in simple, easy to understand language.

The RIELLO Handbook - Fourth Edition by George Lanthier
The Fourth Edition covers RIELLO oilburners from 1981 through the present.  Covers the Mectron, F-40, BF, R35 and G51 Series in one manual. Included in the text are illustrations, diagrams and tables for the proper setup and servicing of RIELLO residential and light commercial burners firing up to 6.4 gallons per hour. The book features tips, hints and troubleshooting techniques and procedures and the author's 35 years of experience on the product.

The RIELLO MEC-KA Handbook by George Lanthier
The RIELLO MEC-KA series was distributed from 1975 to 1981. This manual covers service and troubleshooting for models MEC-3KA and MEC-8KA. The book is in a 8-1/2" by 11' format and is spiral bound for easy reading and page placement. Features troubleshooting tips and flowcharts to diagnose problems quickly. We provide no technical support for these burner models and parts are no longer available.

This book focuses on oilheating systems and the primary control systems that operate them. This manual is chock full of oilburner primary controls from 'stack switches' to state-of-the art microprocessor based designs. A must have for the oilburner technician or anyone involved in oilburner service.
